What does an endocrinologist do?

An endocrinologist is a medical specialist who deals with diseases of the endocrine glands.

Endocrine glands produce hormones, substances that regulate numerous functions in the body.

The endocrine glands are:

- the thyroid
- the parathyroids
- the pancreas
- the adrenal glands
- the ovaries
- the testicles
